Rick Augustine

"Glimpse the Future" Original Bronze - By Rick Augustine
Auctioned live as part of the "60's Revisited" Dinner, Dance, & Art Auction
Proudly owned by Tom and Martha Salome of MarSal Arabians, Crawford, Texas

Rick Augustine is a name well-known to those familiar with the Arabian breed, as he has been creating beautiful, lifelike paintings and sculptures of these distinctive horses for over 35 years. He has enjoyed tremendous success with his equine art, and many of his limited editions are already sold out. Recently, however, his work has become even more precious due to a tragic explosion at the foundry he used for many years. Several of his completed bronzes, as well as the molds used to create his sculptures, were lost forever. Rick soon learned the true meaning of perseverance when this catastrophic loss was followed by his own spinal injury which required surgery and an extensive recovery process.

In addition to his abilities as an artist, Rick is well known for his knowledge of equine structure and the concept of “form to function.” He has written numerous articles on this subject, as well as giving presentations at several key equine functions. Involved with Arabian racing, endurance and other athletic endeavors for many years, Rick coordinated the hugely successful Arabian exhibition races which were held at the Egyptian Event in the past. He has also raised Arabians of Egyptian bloodlines for more than 25 years, and one of his most beloved treasures is his 23-year old stallion, Arrow Mahareekh, a look-alike son of the charismatic Egyptian import, *El Mareekh.

The works of Rick Augustine are currently featured in the collections of Arabian horse owners and fine art collectors throughout the United States as well as Canada, Mexico, South America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East., and have also been used as awards for many prestigious shows, races, and events. His bronzes have been the high-selling pieces at several prominent art auctions, including the Egyptian Event, and his latest sculpture is eagerly anticipated by art enthusiasts around the world.
