The paintings of Janice Darr Cua
seem to radiate from within, casting a glow which mesmerizes the
viewer and evocative of the intense passion of the artist herself.
Primarily self-taught, Janice began painting as a young girl and
commissions soon followed, including large murals in churches,
private estates, and commercial facilities. Always seeking to expand
her talents, Janice has spent more than thirty years studying
anatomy through the use of live models. She names Alma Tadema, JW
Waterhouse, Carvaggio, Bernini, Mucha, and Rembrandt as some of the
many artists whose work she greatly admires. Through study of their
compositions; the beauty of depth and light, emotional magnetism;
and years that fell into decades, Janice has developed a unique and
thought-provoking style which is undeniably recognized as her own.
The work of Janice Cua may be seen in select galleries around the
world, and she has had more than thirty sell-out shows abroad, as
well as dozens of American exhibitions. Her collectors include ABC
Television Network, Hallmark, Collectors Editions, Art Brilliant of
Japan, Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the La Marche collection, and
politicians and celebrities worldwide. Shows since 1997 through 2004
extend from the Grand Ball Room of the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel,
CA, to the shores of Japan, the city of Paris, France, Beverly
Hills, CA., Las Vegas, NV, the Hawaiian Islands, the Ritz Carlton of
Newport Beach, as well as a select group of galleries throughout the
United States.
Whether exercising her powers to capture the spirit of the Arabian
horse, the romance of the Renaissance, or the universal bond between
mother and child, the art of Janice Cua always delivers with
striking depth and passion. |
