Susan Hedstrand creates art in the
Huckleberry Mountains of northeast Washington. Growing up in the
Florida countryside, Susan found an early love for nature and art.
She began her career as an equine artist in 1974, working in pencil,
pastel and watercolor. Her detailed and lifelike portraits capture
the personality and spirit of the animal. Susan’s watercolor
painting of "Wily Wolf" was chosen for the 2003 National Appaloosa
Horse Show Poster, and was featured on the "Appaloosa Journal"
cover, July 2003. Her work may be seen in many galleries throughout
the Northwest.
