Marinangeli's first encounter with the Arabian horse was love at
first sight. "No other creature is able to provide more
inspiration and emotion for my art," she explains. "If I had
to describe my ideal Arabian horse, I would say he is a divine
Pegasus, flying over clouds and rainbows, or a mythical unicorn,
galloping through fields and ancient forests. The Arabian
horse is, in my mind, a hope for a better world of endless beauty, a
vision of perfection and a joy for eyes and soul."
"This is a challenging task for an
artist and a difficult process of endless study and dedication," she
concedes, "but nothing makes me happier and prouder than to realize
I have represented Arabian horses to the best of my artistic skills.
Humankind's similar relationships with Arabian horses and ancient
sight hound breeds, such as Salukis and Afghan hounds, both
descended from ancient Persian greyhounds, exist throughout history.
Arabian horses and sight hounds represent the portrait subjects with
which I have had the most recognition."
Marinangeli's favorite media are
classic oils and watercolors. She continually strives to
refine her technical skills, to study and research and to experiment
with new frontiers of expression, always remaining faithful to her
style.
"My classic,
realistic style best expresses my personality and my ideal image of
this fascinating, unique and wonderful creature, the Arabian horse,"
she acknowledges.
