In her own
words...
My inspiration for photography came from my mare Dream. I bought her
when I was 55, my first horse, and the perfect horse. Knowing
nothing about horses, with 6 months of lessons under my belt, I set
out to find the horse of my dreams. And, find her I did (but I am
convinced to this day that it was truly destiny that bought us
together). Found her on the intranet and ironically we were going to
a show 50 miles from home, but on the same route as this wonderful
mare. I did not ride her first, as she had a younger sister that my
friend and the owner, thought would be best. But, I saw Dream's
beautiful head and large black eyes and fell in love. I bought her.
I knew nothing about horses and she taught me everything. I had no
idea what a "spook" felt like, until Dream (her name then was
Holmhaven Rocket). I changed her name because I didn't think at 55 I
needed to ride a rocket. Anyway, for the next 4 1/2 years Mi Mystic
Dream (Dream) took me under her wing and taught me to listen, to
feel, to love and to be inspired by the magnificent Arabian Horse. |
