Ali Al Mimar was born in Baghdad
in 1965 where he realized early in life that his true calling was
art. Ali graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad in
1985. Following this, to further his education, Ali attended
and graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Baghdad. His first
solo exhibition occurred at Al Tahrir Gallery in 1985, and has since
had several other exhibitions, both public and private.
Ali is one of the world's most
talented and distinguished painters of Arabian horses as recognized
by international specialists and judging committees in the field, and his work
can be found in private collections in the US, France, Egypt,
Germany, Switzerland, Jordan, as well as in many other countries
around the world. Most recently, his work was included as part of
the Mathaf Gallery's Exhibition, "The Arab Horse - An Equine Work of
Art", which took place at the gallery in London from June 14th
through July 2, 2004. Currently, Ali is a resident of the United
Arab Emirates and is working as the Fine Arts Supervisor at the
University of Sharjah. |
